The Crawfordsville Lady Athenians moved one step closer to locking down their seventh straight Montgomery county soccer title with a 2-0 win over the visiting Southmont Mounties.
Senior Alex Gasaway provided the offense for Crawfordsville scoring both goals; one in each half. Her goal in the first half was very impressive as her 25+ yard shot found its way over the hands of Southmont goalkeeper Mallory McIntire and just under the cross bar.
The win moves Crawfordsville to 9-1-1 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in the conference and will look to wrap up the county title when they face off against North Montgomery Thursday night .
Southmont drops to 3-5-2 on the season and 2-3 in conference matches and takes on Danville in another tough conference matchup on Wednesday.
