I covered the semi-finals and finals of the 2009 IHSAA volleyball sectionals held at Western Boone High School. The day opened with the much anticipated matchup between North Montgomery and Western Boone and the game lived up to all expectations for a great match. The teams split their two earlier season matchups with North Montgomery [...] I decided to try something a little different than normal tonight. This is a photography style called Lightpainting and it was the first time I have tried it on something larger than an item on my desk. It is done using a long exposure (30 seconds for this shot) and lighting the tree [...] The North Montgomery Lady Chargers secured a tie for the conference championship with their 26-24, 25-16, 25-19 victory over the visiting Tri-West Lady Bruins. A late rally by Tri-West made the first set close as they ran off six straight points to even the set at 24 before the Lady Chargers were able to break their [...] The Crawfordville Athenians used an early barrage of goals to take their 4th consecutive sectional in convincing fashion, defeating Southmont 7-1. I arrived just as the game was starting and by the time I had my camera out of the car and walked to my spot on the field the score was already 3-0 and the [...] Congratulations to Kelsea Simpson for being named the 2009-2010 Montgomery County Jr. Miss. Kelsea, a senior at North Montgomery, was followed but what must have been a very close decision, by first runner-up Crawfordsville senior Jenn Meyer and second runner-up Southmont senior Brooke Wininger. I thought all the ladies did a very nice job [...] Sorry to be away for awhile. I have been tied up with a variety of other things such as senior pictures, youth league team and individual photos, a wedding, bad weather and still have not been able to shake my cold. I was back on the fields tonight covering the boys sectional finals and should [...] The first full month since starting the new website recently closed out and I wanted to share some data with you. For the month of September there were 6,967 visits by 2,691 unique visitors who viewed 17,476 pages of information generating 99,397 total hits. I think that is a great first month and thank everyone [...] The North Montgomery boys soccer team defeated the visiting Covington Trojans 2-0 Thursday night. I have been fighting bronchitis for over a week so only stayed for the first half given the cold, damp and windy conditions.
