The Lady Athenians returned to the court for their first contest following their tough loss to Western Boone on Saturday and responded with a very solid 80-60 victory over visiting Greencastle.
Senior Betty Elliott had a career night finishing an astounding 13-15 from the floor for 26 points. Greencastle kept pressing and Crawfordsville kept beating it, finding Elliott open in the low post leading to numerous easy scores. The Lady Athenians overall had an outstanding night shooting, finishing the game shooting converting nearly 60% of their field goal attempts.
Greencastle kept the game close through the first half trailing 34-30 at the break but a 26 point third quarter by Crawfordsville put Greencastle in a hole they could not escape in spite of their strong three point shooting.
Alex Gasaway had another solid game finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Courtney Hamilton also finished in double digits with 10 points along with 7 boards.
Crawfordsville moves to 4-1 on the season and returns to action 12/1 when they travel to Fountain Central before opening conference play 12/4 at Lebanon.
In the JV contest, it was no contest as the Lady Athenians dismantled Greencastle 44-9.
