4th of July Fireworks

I am lucky enough to get to see probably the best personal fireworks show in Indiana from my own deck. Buddy Brady knows how to put on a show. Below is a slideshow of some of my favorites.

Ice Fog

I went out this morning to take some shots of the results from the ice fog last night. I waited a bit too long and the sun had started to ruin things but did manage to get a few shots I liked.

Wolf Moon Video

Since the first full moon of the year is known as the Wolf Moon, I decided to try something new and made a simple video of it by animating about 240 still images. It is nothing spectacular but I was happy with it for a first attempt. Next time, hopefully it won’t be so cold outside.

Macro Flowers

Since my car is running like crap and due for a trip to the auto doctor tomorrow I was home again tonight and not able to make it to a basketball game. I stopped by Flowers and Things and picked up some flowers from Stephanie Pool to play around some more with the macro lens since I still had everything out from the water drop shooting last night. Here are a few shots I liked.

I was in the mood to try something different tonight so I played around taking photos of drops of water and tried to give them a unique look by how I positioned the lights. Below are a few that I liked. Let me know what you think.

Something Different – Lightpainting

I decided to try something a little different than normal tonight. This is a photography style called Lightpainting and it was the first time I have tried it on something larger than an item on my desk. It is done using a long exposure (30 seconds for this shot) and lighting the tree using a 2,000,000 candle handheld floodlight while moving around about 40 ft on either side of the camera “painting” the tree with light.

While I still have a lot to learn I thought it turned out pretty cool and wanted to post it. Figured some of you might be getting tired of the endless stream of sports photos.

Where Have You Been?

Sorry to be away for awhile. I have been tied up with a variety of other things such as senior pictures, youth league team and individual photos, a wedding, bad weather and still have not been able to shake my cold.

I was back on the fields tonight covering the boys sectional finals and should have some new images from the game up by tomorrow. I also am getting ready to post photos from the Jr. Miss contest from Sunday.

September Site Statistics

The first full month since starting the new website recently closed out and I wanted to share some data with you.

For the month of September there were 6,967 visits by 2,691 unique visitors who viewed 17,476 pages of information generating 99,397 total hits. I think that is a great first month and thank everyone for taking the time to visit.

While the majority of the visitors where from the United States, there were also visitors from 51 different countries around the world.

I hope you have been enjoying the content and hope you will return many times in the future. If you have any suggestions for improvements by all means, let me know.
