For the first time in many years, all three county schools had gymnastics team so a true county championship was able to be held. Southmont, who has had a strong team for several years, was able to win the overall team championship as well as the top three individual scorers. Crawfordsville was also able to post a season high team score, surpassing a season goal of scoring 80 team points. North Montgomery finished third, but considering this is only their second year of having a team, they performed very well and showed a lot of improvement since the start of the season.
Southmont sophomore Kara Price won the all around championship in dominating fashion, winning three individual events and finishing a close second in her fourth. Below is a short animation I made from still images of her pulling off a nice black flip on the beam.

The 2010 sectional finals featured North Montgomery taking on Western Boone. Western Boone came into the game after a huge victory over Crawfordsville and were missing some of the fire they had in that matchup which allowed North Montgomery to really push them throughout the game. However, when the game came down to the wire, Western Boone stepped up and showed why they were undefeated in conference play and closed out the game strong with a 42-32 victory.

The North Montgomery Lady Chargers enjoyed a first round bye and were finally set to take the floor as they opened the semi-final round of the IHSAA girls sectional by taking on Danville. Danville advanced with a first round win over Southmont but were unable to repeat their performance as North Montgomery moves on to the finals with a 51-41 victory.

The North Montgomery freshman boys basketball team hosted the Brownsburg Bulldogs. The Chargers played the much larger Bulldogs close for the first half and made a nice run to get the game close in the third quarter but a strong run by Brownsburg allowed them to open up the game and cruise to a 43-20 victory.

Southmont hosted what was to a be a three-way meet with North Montgomery and Owen Valley but the nasty weather sent Owen Valley back south leaving only the Lady Mounties and Lady Chargers to compete.
North Montgomery in only its second year back with a gymnastics team showed significant improvement over last season but still have a ways to go to catch up to the talented Southmont squad. The Lady Mounties won the meet by a score of 91.425 – 70.825.

The North Montgomery cheerleading team held a clinic for nearly 80 future Charger cheerleaders. The day was capped off with the ladies performing some of the things they learned during the day at halftime of the basketball team.
There were waaaaay too many of the little cheerleaders for me to get photos of everyone so my apologies to anyone I missed. Click here to view the photos I was able to capture.
The West Lafayette Red Devils traveled to North Montgomery for a non-conference matchup with the Chargers. North Montgomery played a solid game, controlling the tempo most of the night in route to a comfortable 59-47 victory.

The Danville Warriors brought their traveling talent show to North Montgomery to close out a boy-girl night of Sagamore conference basketball. Entering the game ranked #2 in the state, and currently ranked #1, the Warriors showed that they are very deserving of the ranking as they dominated the contest leaving with a 63-42 victory.
