The Chargers showed that they are loaded in their skilled positions and their line played a very solid game. One penalty, no turnovers, one punt and 46 points in the first half was pretty impressive. If only they would have sent players wearing football pants for my Journal Review football cover photo shoot, I would have considered it an outstanding week for North Montgomery football.

The Lady Chargers looked very strong in their season opener with a very dominating front line. Size, speed and athleticism is a hard combination to match. Once they get settled in with a new setter they will be tough to beat.

The ISHAA has been cracking down on photographers posting and selling photos from state tourney events. A couple of my photo buddies from Indy ran into problems this year so to avoid potential problems I have decided to not post any photos other than the big pano photo below. Sorry folks.

For the first time in many years, all three county schools had gymnastics team so a true county championship was able to be held. Southmont, who has had a strong team for several years, was able to win the overall team championship as well as the top three individual scorers. Crawfordsville was also able to post a season high team score, surpassing a season goal of scoring 80 team points. North Montgomery finished third, but considering this is only their second year of having a team, they performed very well and showed a lot of improvement since the start of the season.
Southmont sophomore Kara Price won the all around championship in dominating fashion, winning three individual events and finishing a close second in her fourth. Below is a short animation I made from still images of her pulling off a nice black flip on the beam.

The 2010 sectional finals featured North Montgomery taking on Western Boone. Western Boone came into the game after a huge victory over Crawfordsville and were missing some of the fire they had in that matchup which allowed North Montgomery to really push them throughout the game. However, when the game came down to the wire, Western Boone stepped up and showed why they were undefeated in conference play and closed out the game strong with a 42-32 victory.
