Southmont Track vs Crawfordsville

Track is a hard sport for me to pick favorite images. There is just not much you can do to get a lot of unique shots of someone running. I was primarily trying to get a volume of images from both schools to take care of their yearbook needs and will spend more time on creative shots at a meet later this year.

Boys Basketball Sectionals

The ISHAA has been cracking down on photographers posting and selling photos from state tourney events. A couple of my photo buddies from Indy ran into problems this year so to avoid potential problems I have decided to not post any photos other than the big pano photo below. Sorry folks.

Southmont Boys Basketball vs Fountain Central

The Southmont boys basketball teams closed out their 2009-2010 season against the visiting Fountain Central Mustangs. The JV team played what seemed like the longest JV game in history, finally edging out the Mustangs 60-59 in four overtimes. The varsity team was not as fortunate as they fell to Fountain Central 62-55.

County Gymnastics Meet

For the first time in many years, all three county schools had gymnastics team so a true county championship was able to be held. Southmont, who has had a strong team for several years, was able to win the overall team championship as well as the top three individual scorers. Crawfordsville was also able to post a season high team score, surpassing a season goal of scoring 80 team points. North Montgomery finished third, but considering this is only their second year of having a team, they performed very well and showed a lot of improvement since the start of the season.

Southmont sophomore Kara Price won the all around championship in dominating fashion, winning three individual events and finishing a close second in her fourth. Below is a short animation I made from still images of her pulling off a nice black flip on the beam.

Southmont Girls Varsity Basketball vs Danville

The 2010 IHSAA girls basketball sectionals opened play at Southmont high school after two cancellations due to bad weather. The first game featured Southmont vs Danville.

Southmont, who has had a challenging season, played a very good game but missed free throws and a dominating performance by Danville senior Amy Kramer was too much for the Lady Mounties as they fell 45-34.

Southmont Girls Varsity Basketball vs Lebanon

The Southmont Lady Mounties hosted the Lebanon Lady Tigers in a Sagamore conference matchup as the season draws near a close. Behind a strong first half, Lebanon rolled to an easy 57-28 victory.
