The Lady Mounties hosted Fountain Central at the Crawfordsville Country Club on senior night for Southmont. The match was interrupted after a BIG flash of lightning sent everyone scurrying for the club house. The delay did not last much longer than the mandatory 30 minutes and the ladies were back on the course to finish up the match. Southmont finished with a team score of 209 and were led by their two seniors with Jenna Whalen taking the medalist spot with a 47 followed closely by a 48 from Aubri Rush. Fountain Central did not have enough golfers to qualify for an official score. The Lady Mounties travel to Lafayette Jeff on Thursday before heading to the conference meet on Saturday at Quail Creek. Lebanon and Frankfort traveled to Rocky Ridge golf course, home for the North Montgomery Chargers for a three way match Wednesday. Lebanon, led by sophomore standout Maddy Linder’s medalist round of 39, easily outpaced the North Montgomery and Frankfort by 28 strokes. The Lady Tigers finished with a team score of 176 with Frankfort and North Montgomery tying at 204. The nod for second place went to Frankfort based on a better fifth place individual score. Lebanon had all team scoring individuals finish the round under 50. North Montgomery freshman #1 golfer Morgan Pettit led the Lady Chargers with a 43 and was the lone individual to break 50 on the night. Frankfort also had a single golfer break 50 when Hannah Pierce finished the night with a 46. I tried to take photos of all three teams during the match. A new year of high school sports got underway for me tonight when the Crawfordsville Lady Athenians golf team hosted Frankfort and Hamilton Heights at the Crawfordsville Municipal golf course. The Lady Athenians easily won the three way matchup beating Hamilton Heights by 34 strokes and topping Frankfort by 45. Crawfordsville finished the night with a team score of 197 and was lead by junior number 1 golfer Courtney Hamilton’s medalist round of 44. A 48 carded by number 2 golfer Clancy Wolf and a 49 by number 4 Amber Johnson gave the Lady Athenians three sub 50 rounds on the night. Kaitlyn Carey added a 56 for the final team scoring position and Alex Gasaway (59) and Rebecca Johnson (64) rounded out the varsity rounds for the night.
